Three members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Wednesday, escaped assassination attempt on their lives.
The members includes Hoon Samuel Tsebe (APC- Akwanga South), Hon David Maiyaki ( APC- Karu/ Gitata) and Hon Peter Akwanga ( PDP- Obi 1), who were on their way from Akwanga to Lafia around 10am.
An eyewitness said the three lawmakers were coming from a burial of the elder brother to the wife of Hon Tsebe, when the assasins shoot at the vehicle at Wowyen village, along Akwanga/ Lafia road.
Our reporter gathered that the assassin shot at target on the car of Tsebe, who was driving behind the other of his two colleagues, but he escaped unhurt.
Speaking shortly to newsmen after the incident, the member expressed gratitude to God for saving his life and the lives of his colleagues.
“When we are approaching Wowyen village along Akwanga/ Lafia road, that is between Police Mobile Training College, Ende Hills and the village towards the bridge, I heard gun shoot at the driver’s side of my car which I was driving”
“The bullet pearsed through and damaged my windscreen, meaning it was more of assassination attempt on my life. I have informed the police” he said.
