At least, twenty two persons have been reportedly kidnapped in Mai-Ido-Kufai Village, Ankwa Ward in Kachia local government area of Kaduna State on 16th July, 2020.
According to a source, seven persons have regain freedom after paying 2.5 million naira as ransom.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity to LEADERSHIP yesterday , said heavily armed men invaded the on Community 16thJuly, 2020, shot and took away their victims to unknown destination.
According to him the kidnappers are c
presently demanding for the sum of 3 million ransom for the release of the 17 persons hold hostage.
” The abductors are also threatening to kill them if the locals dare hinted the security agencies.
” We have reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Kachia but there was no any positive response.
The source further explained that the whole Community has been thrown into confusion since the abduction of their love ones.
” Some of us had to sold our lands before we were able to raised the 2.5 million sent to them, adding the kidnappers are still demanding for additional 3 million,” The source said.
He disclosed that when the 2.5 million was to be paid for their released the kidnappers requested the money should be brought to Abuja junction, from there they lured us to Gidan Dogara and Gidan Dina axis along Kaduna-Abuja road.
Meanwhile, When LEADERSHIP contacted The Police Public Relation Officer and the Council Chairman of the LG, Hon. Peter Agite could not comment on the incident as they shun calls put to them.
