2023; Continuous Voters Registration CVR, Electoral Act Amendment Bill Crucial, Idris

Former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris says the ongoing continuous voters registration and awareness CVR and the proposed electoral act amedment bill is not only crucial to the development of the country, but sancrosanct.

He therefore ask the people of Kogi State,Nigerians to take the ongoing CVR as a serious business and a civic responsibility.

Idris bare his mind during the meeting of former PDP governor’s in Nigeria held at legacy house in Abuja during the week.

He said in as much as Nigerians are demanding for the improvement in our electoral system, CVR will qualify individuals that exercise his or her franchise, as a corollary to all these demands.

He maintained that the electoral act amedment bill when signed into law, will be a lasting political legacy for Nigeria and appealed to Nigerians to also do their own part.

‘It is when you vote, that you can demand for good governance, provision of social amenities and infrastructural developement in your area, but with apathy , there will be no way forward.’

He expressed worry over the reluctant attitudes of our people towards the continuous voters registration CVR, pleading with them to turn up enmase towards the exercise across Kogi State, Nigeria at large.
